Ripit Good Service Overview

How do I ship my CDs?

Once your order has been confirmed either via our website or over the phone (888-RIPIT-CD), Ripit Good will send you a pre-paid shipping container and enough protective spindles to safely & securely package your CDs and send them back to our facility for digital conversion. All shipments are made through the US postal service or UPS.

How long does it take?

Most collections will be processed in less than 3 days, once we receive your shipment. Larger orders (i.e. over 200 CDs) may take longer depending upon our workload. In some cases, CD collections with many obscure or unusual title searches may have an impact on project grooming & completion times.

Is Ripit Good’s CD Ripping Service Legal?

Yes. Ripit Good abides by all copyright laws and expects our customers to do the same. Generally, if you have purchased copyrighted materials such as a music CD, you have the right to create a copy of that material for your own personal use. Ripit Good will create this copy and return the original material and the copy to you.

How much does it cost?

Ripit Good offers a flat rate of .75 cents per full CD - one of the best values in the ripping business! We also include insured shipping with every order, and each order includes a printed, alphabetized catalog complete with artist and track listings.

Is there a minimum number of CD's Rip It Good will process?

A minimum of 50 CDs are required to initiate the order.

Do you sell iPod packages?

Absolutely. What better way to go from CD rom to digital in one fell swoop? We will load your music onto a brand new or refurbished ipod for immediate enjoyment.. A pre-loaded iPod is a great gift idea for the audiophile in your family!

So you sell refurbished ipods – what’s the catch?

There isn’t a catch. All refurbished ipods are in like-new condition, are fully warranted just like a brand new iPod, and can save you as much as 60% Off on the cost of a brand new Ipod – perfect if you are looking for a quick, inexpensive way to get an Ipod pre-loaded with your own music! Call 888-RIPIT-CD for the latest rates and offers.

Are the shipments insured?

Yes! Ripit Good covers all shipping and insurance costs in the price of your order. Each CD in your collection is insured at 10$ per disc. However, Ripit Good recommends that you refrain from sending any rare, irreplaceable CDs.

Should I send the jewel cases too?

Jewel cases are both too heavy and fragile for shipping. To prevent broken cases and to further reduce the shipping costs, Ripit Good will send you enough empty protective spindle cases to safely store and send your collection. Once the conversion process is complete, Ripit Good will return your collection in the same order as you sent them to us so you can easily return them to their jewel cases.

Will my original CDs be returned to me?

Yes, we will return your CDs as well as the digitized collection on the appropriate number of DVDs. We can also sell you a new or refurbished, pre-loaded ipod for fast digital adoption.

What is the Optimal File Format/BitRate?

For the best balance between file size and sound quality for both home stereo and portable MP3 player use, MP3 files at 128kbps or 192kbps is the best choice. By selecting a lower bitrate, you are able to maintain CD sound quality, while at the same time, maximize the storage space needed to hold the collection. For this reason, 128kbps and 192kbps are very popular bit -rates for MP3 files.

How are my CDs converted?

Ripit Good uses the latest in CD conversion hardware and programming to accurately convert your CDs. The MP3 format is the most universal file format and our best recommendation, but we can also convert your music to other popular formats like WMA, AAC, FLAC, Apple Lossless, AIFF, WMA and more.

How will my music library be organized?

Ripit Good organizes your music library by artist, album and track list. This organizational information is included in both ID3 tags within every file as well as within the file names themselves.

What is bitrate? Does bit-rate affect the storage size?

Ripit Good offers the following bitrates: 128kbps (kilo-bits per second), 192kbps, 256kbps,and 320kbps. . In general, selecting a bit-rate is typically determined (1) by the amount of storage available and (2) how it will be used. The bigger the bitrate, the higher the sound quality and overall size of the compressed file.

What if there's a scratch in one of my CDs? How about damaged CDs?

Ripit Good’s conversion process is able to check for any errors that may occur during the automated process. If there are any scratches in your disc that result in an audible skip, Ripit Good will try to fix the error by cleaning the CD and reprocessing it. If the error cannot be fixed by a surface cleaning, we will resurface the disc with the SkipDR™ scratch repair device. If the disc is too badly damaged and cannot be resurfaced, we will be unable to encode the disc properly without errors and will recommend replacement.

Will the MP3 format work with my iTunes?

Yes. MP3 is the universal standard for all players and related digital music devices. iTunes will see the MP3s and treat it just like its own file format. That is why Ripit Good recommends the MP3 file format above all others – because it will work on virtually any digital audio device.

Will my iPod Photo be able to display the cover art?

Yes, we embed album cover art into each of mp3 tracks of your collection. Cover art is one of the more visceral reasons why you bought CDs in the first place, and albums before it! Now you can have your cake and eat it too!

Does Ripit Good keep a copy of my collection?

No. Ripit Good will return all of your CDs along with every copy of them that was generated by the process. You may choose to make as many copies of your CD as you’d like, but Ripit Good cannot keep or store these copies for you.

Delivery

How will you deliver my CD collection after you’ve converted it?

In every case, your CD collection will be returned to you in the same condition it was received, PLUS you will receive DVDs with digital copies of your collection for easy download and immediate playability.

Can you send me a printed list of my CD collection?

Along with the DVDs of your collection, Ripit Good includes a print out of each CD and song we have encoded for you. You will be able to keep this as a record of the CDs which are also archived on the DVDs.
